Raising a child is a long road, and it can often be difficult to know which direction to take. We undergo minimal prior training for the most important work we will ever do, but it’s never too late to learn, and you don’t have to go it alone. Whether your child is experiencing behavioral, emotional, academic, or developmental difficulties, or you are finding parenting exhausting and overwhelming, support can be tremendously beneficial. Do you feel unsure about what is considered “normal” behavior for a child of a certain age? Does your child behave well in some situations yet have great difficulty in others? Do you find that certain routine events, such as getting out the door in the morning, toileting, completing homework, or going to bed have become a repeated source of stress? Do you feel exhausted, depleted, or like family life is no longer enjoyable? Like you aren’t the parent you imagined you’d be, or don’t know what “good” parenting looks like? Maybe your child is simply going through a difficult time and you are unsure how to be most supportive. Still other families have a good home life but need guidance regarding educational matters.

By listening carefully with a trained ear, Dr. Robinson – who is a mother herself – can identify the factors at play for you and your family, and help you to target areas for improvement. She provides compassionate care in a judgment-free zone, and offers tools for achieving progress so you can find relief. Drawing upon her personal and professional experience and expertise in child development and parenting, Dr. Robinson offers a wealth of information for making parenting and self-care easier. Support sessions initially take place anywhere from once per week to once per month, either alone or in addition to child therapy. After meeting with Dr. Robinson, parents often indicate that they wish they had reached out sooner, and most continue to check in periodically to solve new challenges, maintain a sense of direction, and help their child to develop in the healthiest way possible.
